Sylvia Joo

Ms. Joo received her law degree from Boston College Law School in Newton, Massachusetts. While there, she served as an articles editor for the Journal of Law and Social Justice and was involved with the Public Interest Law Foundation and the Law Student Governing Association. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and theology. She is originally from Cupertino, California.

Before attending law school, Ms. Joo worked at a legal aid organization in Philadelphia, as a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. She continued working with various non-profit organizations during her time at law school and assisted low-income clients, domestic violence survivors, and sexual assault survivors with critical legal needs. In addition to workers’ compensation law, her legal experiences include family law, estates and wills, housing law, immigration law, and restraining order hearings. Ms. Joo has been licensed to practice law in the state of California since 2015.
